A New Short Film Festival Is Coming to Beverley
A brand-new short film festival is gearing up to launch in Beverley, promising a vibrant celebration of storytelling on the big screen right in the heart of East Yorkshire.
Although full details are still under wraps, the festival, set to premiere next year, is currently in development. Organisers are busy curating an exciting lineup of short films, building connections with filmmakers from around the world, and partnering with local venues such as the beloved independent Parkway Cinema Beverley. The goal? To create an unforgettable weekend packed with screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and special events that spotlight the power and creativity of short-form cinema.
The festival is the brainchild of Hull-based actor and creative Daniel Smales, who is passionate about turning Beverley into a destination for film lovers. “There’s an incredible appetite for independent cinema here, and we want to celebrate that with a festival that’s fresh, inclusive, and full of heart,” said Smales. “It’s about giving short films the stage they deserve and creating a space where audiences and artists can connect.”
Festival dates, submission details, and event announcements will be shared soon. In the meantime, filmmakers and fans can follow along on social media and the official website.
